Services Offered at Iannetta Osteopathic ManipulationOsteopathic Manipulative Therapy - Osteopathic Manipulative Therapy (OMT) is a manual therapy done by an osteopathic physician. The physician will use their hands to diagnose and treat areas of restriction in your muscle, ligaments, tendons, and joints. Treatment is commonly a combination of direct and indirect therapies in order to free up restrictions. OMT can help people of all ages and backgrounds in order to reduce pain, promote healing and increase mobility. When used correctly OMT can complement and sometimes even replace medications and surgeries Injection Therapy - Injection therapy consist of different types of injections to help promote healing and decrease pain. Injections commonly done in our office consist of steroid/cortisone injections, neurotherapy, prolotherapy, and triggerpoint injections. Many of the injections done by Dr. Iannetta will be with the assistance of Ultrasound guidance. While Dr. Iannetta is trained to do the injections without any technological assistance, the ultrasound machine allows more precise placement of the needle at it's target structure. Musculosketetal Ultrasound - Ultrasound is used in the office for musculoskeletal diagnosis of multiple joints including but not limited to the shoulder, ankle, hip, elblow, wrist, hand, and foot. The ultrasound machine is also used for precise needle placement during injection procedures. Intersegmental Traction Therapy - Massage rollers in the table are used to help improve somatic dysfunction by decreasing tight muscles allowing Dr. Iannetta’s treatments to be more effective and long lasting. The intersegmental table may be used both before and after an osteopathic treatment Mineral Infrared Light Therapy - The Mineral Infrared Light Therapy (MIT) device emits a range of wavelengths going from 2,000-25,000nm, different from other wave lengths, such as visible rays, x-rays, etc. These particular wavelengths fall in the infrared regions of the electromagnetic spectrum, and thus the patient will feel heat when utilizing the device. However, it is not the heat associated with its wavelengths that gives the mineral frequency device its healing powers. The mineral infrared light has the ability to penetrate six inches into the body and causes what is called a "resonance" of minerals which are then liberated from the oxidized condition and are once again available as enzyme co-factors. The mineral infrared light can be used to decrease pain, improve lymphatic congestion, decrease muscle spasm, enhance immune function, and enhance respiratory function. Chinese Herbal Therapy - Dr. Iannetta has spent time with a Chinese Naturopathic doctor and biochemist, Dr. Chi. Using fingernail and tongue diagnosis on the patient, herbal therapy may be recommended for common medical problems. The medical conditions treated with herbal therapies include, but are not limited to, diabetes, hypertension, increased cholesterol, thyroid disorders, pain management, constipation, diarrhea, obesity, depression, anxiety and many more.
